Hello Ikole88, first, I would like to apologize that you did not have a good time aboard our charter. I, Captain Mike, consider customer service and safety the two most important aspects of our business. In fact, we actually moved your trip from Tuesday to Thursday as the forecast was better for Thursday. By moving your trip, we lost the potential to book an additional trip on Thursday, but I consider the comfort and enjoyment of my clients as opposed to the bottom line and revenue.
The morning of our trip we sat in the salon of the vessel with the mate Capt. David and discussed our various options for our trip with you. We reviewed the weather with you and your crew, and the plan was agreed upon to run the 33 miles offshore to look for early season cobia. I will add that running almost 40 miles each way round trip is not the most cost effective, for our profit, trip we could have run, but because I actually do believe in customer service, I wanted to catch the best possible fish available.
Once the plan was agreed upon, we started our trip offshore and the weather was not cooperating so David and I gave you and your crew the option to turn around and fish in closer, however, you all still decided to push on. At this point, no one in your crew was feeling poorly. Upon arrival to the fishing grounds, one of your crew immediately became sea sick, so per my advice, this person laid down and began to feel better.

We probably spent about an hour and a half working the area, where two of your crew was having a great time and had the opportunity to fight two big fish which eventually parted from the line. After I noticed that it seemed the fun was starting to run out, I suggested that we run closer into shore to try for sea bass, which we cannot keep, but are fun to catch, but also sheepshead which can be harvested and are excellent table fare.
Once we arrived at the closer site, 15 miles offshore, everyone began fishing and catching tons of fish, probably in the realm of 100 altogether. Everyone was laughing and having a good time, even the most hesitant member of your crew.
The ride in was smooth and uneventful and you and your crew were very pleasant and expressed that you all had a great time despite the inaccurate whether forecast. At no point did anyone indicate that it was a trip from hell or that they fell they were being ripped off. The unfortunate aspect of offshore fishing is that in no way can we predict what the conditions are like beyond the horizon, and at times, guests do become sea sick, that is the nature of the business.
