Annual Christmas Parade — Boats Floats for the Kids
Get in the holiday spirit with the Annual Community Christmas Parade beginning at 3:00 pm! Come and enjoy the fun as the Murrells Inlet Christmas Parade starts at Wilcox Avenue (Booty’s) and marches down Business 17 to Pendergrass Avenue. Find yourself a comfy spot along the parade route and enjoy the line-up of marching bands, beauty queens, dogs, cycles, and lots and lots of goodies for the kids! Don’t miss out.
We invite friends neighbors, businesses and clubs to join in the parade. Our number one rule is to make your entry fun for the kids! This one is all about the children. Decorate, decorate, decorate! Hand out candy! Dress up! Play or sing music! A panel of children judges will select the one winning entry. one and only one winner in the eyes of the children! Christmas in the Inlet Holiday Home Tour
This year’s tour features eleven beautiful homes along Highway 17 Business, in The Hermitage and in Mt. Gilead. The homes on the tour will ofer up many varieties of local flavor. Many thanks to our gracious homeowners who have generaously agreed to open their homes for the tour:

2nd Annual Taste of the Inlet
M urrells Inlet 2020 and Inlet Square Mall invite you to savor the flavors of our Murrells Inlet and Garden City Beach restaurants, on January 26, 2014, 6pm — 9pm, at Inlet Square Mall, located at 12125 Highway 17 Bypass in Murrells Inlet.
Over 25 Inlet and Garden City restaurants are planning to participate in this the Inlet’s premier culinary competition event that allows our restaurants and chefs to showcase their signature dishes, as they serve up a delicious feast of hors d’oeuvres, tapas and heavy appetizers. Guests will be able to sample and vote for their favorite choices. The winning restaurants will be presented with trophies.

Proceeds benefit Murrells Inlet 2020, a 501c3 non-profit community revitalization organization, dedicated to making the Inlet a nice place to live, work and visit.

9th Annual Race for the Inlet
Lace up those sneakers for some early Saturday morning exercise as you run or walk through the marshfront, oak-shaded streets of Murrells Inlet in the 2014 Race for the Inlet. T his event features the 5K Walk and Run, with optional chip timing, an 8K chip-timed Run and an 8K chip-timed walk. Participants can run or walk through Murrells Inlet on the USATF certified courses. Race timing provided by Race Management Systems. It is a fun event suitable for all ages and skill levels.
All events start and end at Morse Park Landing on Highway 17 Business (next to the Hot Fish Club) in Murrells Inlet. All events begin at 8am. Prizes will be awarded based on chip timings to the overall top male and female 5K and 8K winners and the top male and female 5K and 8K winners in each of the age groups. You must register for a chip to qualify for prizes.
Registration opens January 6, 2014.

Fees through March 12 . 5K Walk or run with no chip = $15. 8K Walk or Run with chip 5K Walk or Run with chip = $20. Register by March 12th to be guaranteed a t-shirt .

Registration closes at noon on March 25, and will reopen on March 27 at 4pm.

You can register at packet pick up on Thursday (3/27/14) or Friday (3/28/14) or on race day (3/29/14). Packets can be picked up at the MI2020 office on March 27 (4pm — 8pm) or on March 28 (11 am — 3pm). The MI2020 office is located at 4124B Hwy 17 Business (across from Crazy Sister Marina). Packets can also be picked up on race day (6:45 am — 7:45 am) at Morse Park Landing.

23rd Annual Spring Tide — A Day for the Inlet
Twenty-three years and going strong, Spring Tide is South Carolina’s biggest and longest-running one-day community clean-up. Join in to clean up the creek and streets of Murrells Inlet. The day begins with an invocation at 9:45 am at Morse Park Landing (next to the Hot Fish Club) in Murrells Inlet. Volunteers can check in at the Hot Fish Club to receive street assignments for clean-up. Workers head out at 10:00 am to start picking up the trash. Everyone is invited back to the Hot Fish Club at 1:00 pm for the Best Damn Chowder Cook-off and light-hearted festivities and live music to celebrate our hard work. Over fifteen restaurant chowders will be available and the chowder is free to all our workers. Bring your boats, boots, bug spray, glove and your love of the Inlet. It’s a go — Rain or Shine.
